//ENGINEERING IS NOT JUST A CAREER - IT'S A LIFESTYLE
I got asked that so often: Lars, you must be a millionaire with all the innovations you developed.
Nope. I never focused on money in my career. I loved building new innovative products and services, and guess what? This is what truly fulfills me.
Yes, getting fair pay is also important. But in the end, I believe in our business world, we are way too focused on money, kpis, and success based on old definitions.
Engineering is a lifestyle and a way of thinking, not just a career
For a lot of engineers, problem-solving and optimization spill over into their personal lives, shaping how they tackle hobbies and everyday tasks. Whether itâs figuring out the best way to whip up dinner or using technical skills for creative projects, their focus on constant improvement becomes part of who they are. Itâs not just a job for them; itâs a mindset that prioritizes efficiency, innovation, and practical solutions in everything they do.
Honestly, as an innovation engineer, Iâm always brainstorming new products or challengesâeven during my bathroom breaks! đ
P.S.
What about you? Do you catch yourself using that âengineering mindsetâ in your everyday life? Is it a good thing, or can it sometimes be a bit much? Would love to hear what you think!
