I’ve never stayed at a job longer than 3 years and I left that job because they wouldn’t promote me. My Mom taught me to leave situations where I felt like I was being taken advantage of.

I love how some employers will pile on responsibility on top of responsibility on you but they refuse to make that reflect in your title and pay.

The same rules that apply at work, apply here on Linkedin. Sure, you probably know someone who pulled off a successful office romance but you also know a bunch of horror stories of it not working out.

You are not Steph Curry, this is not Basketball. 9/10 when you shoot your shot on Linkedin you come across as creepy, unprofessional, rude and inappropriate.

If you see someone you find attractive on Linkedin, keep it to yourself and know that if it's meant to be, God will make you cross paths....outside of Linkedin.

Elon tried to bully his twitter staff into unreasonable working conditions and more than 50% hung up on him when he asked them to commit to Twitter 2.0.

In my culture we call that fucking around and finding out.

I need employers and managers to realize that your employees are closer to being your business partners and not your slaves.

You won’t have a company without a workforce. You wont have revenue, profits or influence without your workforce.

Just because you sign the cheque doesn’t mean you’re better or can become abusive.

It’s like he didn’t watch The Dark Knight Rises when the guy told Bane β€œI’ve paid you a fortune” and Bane rightfully said β€œAnd this gives you power over me?”

Before breaking his neck and going about his business. A perfect analogy.

This is the greatest University Recruiter of all time.

A whole generation of Teens and Kids were motivated to go to post-secondary because this man shamed them every summer break or whenever they were home sick from school.

SMH, I was just trying to watch Maury and Judge Mathis, but this man had me writing essays for acceptance.

Look at Gen Z doing God's work. I know it seems like we're seeing a lot of employers roll back on Employee-Friendly things like WFH, Salary Transparency and DEI work but the market will always follow the talent.

One way or another companies will realize that antagonism isn't the best strategy for hiring and retaining talent. Gen Z is proving this and will drag antiquated work environments into the 2020s.

Normalise gaps in work experience because we aren't robots. Shit happens. Get over it.
My Dad: Why do you look so upset?
Me: My manager at Quiznos said I have to clean the bathroom tmrw. I took this job to make subs, not clean bathrooms.
My Dad: Tell her you don't have to do anything but stay Black and die.

And that's how I got fired from Quiznos in my 1st week.

Back in 2013, I had about 750.00 in my bank account and in my desperation to try and break into Radio, I paid a Resume Writer $654.19 for a 6 page resume for about 8 months of experience.

After the utter failure of that resume I went out and learned everything I could about making a resume.

Wow, what a journey. I know now how to make an amazing resume and I had a chance to share my Resume Dos and Donts on CNBC.
