We’ve cut child care fees across the country, and we’re working to deliver $10-a-day child care in the places that haven’t already reached that target. But we need more child care spaces, too, so more families can benefit from affordable and high-quality child care.

To make that happen – and to help early learning and child care providers renovate, retrofit, and build new facilities – we’re launching the Early Learning and Child Care Infrastructure Fund.

In recent years, we’ve seen record-breaking wildfires, hurricanes, and floods across the country. To reduce the risks of climate-related disasters in the future, we’ve just launched Canada’s first-ever National Adaptation Strategy.

It’s our plan to keep people healthy and safe, protect nature and biodiversity, build and maintain resilient infrastructure, and support our economy and our workers. In other words, we’re working together with provinces, territories, Indigenous communities, and Canadians to prepare for – and reduce – risks of climate change.

As the Russian regime continues – and escalates – its attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, I announced additional measures and investments to support the Ukrainian people and government. Here’s some of what we’re doing:

We’re providing new funding for military assistance and extending Operation UNIFIER – Canada’s military training and capacity building mission in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – to 2026. We’re also moving forward with seizing Russian assets, and imposing more sanctions.

On top of that, we’re providing support in response to the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam – and we’re helping organizations that are responding to the needs of people affected by the resulting floods. We’re also committed to assisting with post-flood reconstruction.
