On 26 Dec 2016 morning I was getting ready for my office.

I got a call for a blood request.

27 Dec is my birthday when I usually donate blood, so I thought to donate blood a day before.

I reached hospital, donated blood, handover the donor card to the person who called me and he was gone with that card.

I took mandatory rest of 5-10 minutes after donation and as I took a half day leave, so I decided to meet the family.

I went up to the ward, met the wife of the patient and introduced myself to her. She said “Bhaiya aap yaha kyon aaye ho, humne toh paise se diye hai (why you came here, I have made the payment”.

I was surprised as there was no payment (or processing fees) required in that govt hospital for admitted patients for blood.

I called the guy but he didn’t responded my call and then switched off. I realised that I have been cheated.

I went to authority but they were also helpless to do anything.

As the blood I donated was given to the patient it was supposed to go, the money that person took was in cash, so no proof to file any case.

As it was hard to arrange cash (during demonetisation), I thought to give whatever I cash I had to that lady.

So I went to the ward but she was not there. There was a Bengali lady who told me that she took her husband for few tests.

While waiting I started talking to that Bengali lady.

I was shocked and broken to hear that the lady who paid for my blood got into prostitution to pay medical bills for her husband.

I couldn’t believe and I kept the cash under the pillow to left the hospital.

I was driving back and while in tears I called my wife.

She told me not to cry, as if I can do anything in this case there is no point of crying and if I can’t do, then my tears are not going solve anything.

That was the day, I decided to leave my well paying job and work on blood donation only.

The black marketing of blood was happening due to shortage of blood supply.

We just need to have atleast 5 million more blood donors to solve the blood shortage across India.

During COVID19, we all saw the worst side of blood donation during Plasma crisis.

People were making excuses for not going to donate blood or plasma.

Whereas the same people were standing in queues outside wine shops after the lockdown.

And then I realised that it’s not a systematic problem, it was an attitude problem of all of us.

There is no point to celebrate blood donor day as it was irrelevant for most of the days.

That’s when I decided to walk across India to wake up our nation to donate blood and make sure that…

“Nobody should die waiting for blood after 31st December 2025”

Last night I got a voice message (for birthday wishes) from that same lady who changed my life.

She lost her husband to cancer in 2018 and I helped her to come out of brothel by getting her a job. She is now happily married.

I promised her, that I will do whatever possible to end blood shortage, so that no other lady had to see what she went through.

In 2017, I met one promising young boy who died waiting for blood in Delhi. His death cannot be considered as dignified one, as he died in India's premier hospital AIIMS, New Delhi. And that too, In a city with millions of potential donors.

That time, I was expecting our first kid. I made it a promise that she/he won't die like this.

On 11 Jan 2018, we were blessed with a baby boy. On 23rd Jan I was on a walk across India to spread awareness about #BloodDonation.

Leaving my wife and my 11 days boy in such situation alone was not easy. But they managed it very well.

During next 7-8 months, I travelled 16,000 kms and I met with more than 700k people across India. Thousands people came forward to donate blood.

But it was not enough and recently during #plasma crisis I realised there is lot more needs to be done on this.

We need to make blood donation a culture in India. So that “Nobody should die waiting for blood in India after 31st December 2025“.

A day before #WorldBloodDonorDay, I announce the same again. This time again I am going to walk across India, Bhutan and Nepal, starting in December 2021.

I will donate blood on my birthday (27th December) and will start accordingly.

Before that we will make sure to revamp Simply Blood with a new approach based on experiences during last two months of plasma crisis.

My walk will aim and will conclude “ONLY after reaching a community of One Million blood donors across India on our platform“.

This is going to be World's longest individual blood awareness campaign ever.

Currently with not much plans I am going to start planning it now to achieve this goal next year.

Wish me success!

#DonateBlood #SaveLives

PS - My wife who's sleeping next to me don't have any idea of this announcement and we may won't see each other for maybe a whole year. BUT I know she is a strong lady and she will support my crazy plan.

This is probably the most expensive phone in the world. Not just in terms of price tag but also the cost one paid for this.

A friend of friend, who lives in Singapore since last 10 years and working at top position in one of the largest mobile companies of Singapore.

He came here after hearing his father was suffering from COVID. His father was in Muzaffarpur, Bihar and his situation was critical.

He gave his father all the best possible medical support but couldn't save him.

Our mutual friend gave him my number just in case he needed any help in India.

After everything was over this guy reached out and sadly we couldn't talk much (though we both wanted to share our pain) as my phone was not working.

He realised the importance of our work at Simply Blood after going through the pain in finding plasma donor and appreciated. He asked me to share my address to deliver a phone.

The delivery was not possible at my address, but he tried every possible address and finally he placed an order at an address where delivery was possible.

I was emotional, shocked, surprised and excited to get the most expensive production phone in the world.

But the cost my friend paid for this phone was not known to others.

I have seen many kind hearted people but this man taught me a different level of kindness. Even after losing his father, he thanked every doctor, nurse, medical staff, even the support staff for doing their best.

It has been 10 days but I couldn't had enough courage to use this phone.

Now as my current phone is switching off very quickly, I am forced to use it but before that the world need to know the price someone paid.

I don't believe in God but if there is any then that “God bless him and everyone like him“.

PS : I am not tagging him, so that you can try to see positivity in each connection of mine. This is going to be the best dedication to his proud father.

Stay blessed

Do you think success comes only from IIT, IIM, Civil Service, Google etc?

If you think so, then you need to read this.

When I failed, even my own family ‘virtually’ disowned me.

My friends stopped talking to me as I was not doing a job and might ask for money.

When I got a super sexy job, the world was roaming around me. People were giving attention to a school dropout to take advantage of my position.

But when I left that well paying job to start Simply Blood, people stopped picking my phone, thinking “Kiran might ask for money”.

I spent days without even having meals (yes, just eating bread as that’s all my wife and me could afford).

Then we got many helping hands and we could save more than 60,000 potential lives through efforts till date through blood donation.

The support behind us came from unexpected friends like Kanishk Dutta, Lokesh Bhatt, Anand Krishna Rohatgi Sir, Syed Ali Sir and many more.

Then Covid came and we started #ChangeWithOneMeal as a relief work for just 3 months. But I couldn’t stop it as people started expecting that “they will get food there”.

In Oct 2021, I was about to shut it again as my core dream was to see India 🇮🇳 as a country where “Nobody dies waiting for blood”.

I was going to start my 21,000 kms walk for the awareness of blood donation and I won’t be able to do more on food initiative.

Then Suhas Manangi and his wife came to support it. They kept it going for three months.

Since last 6 months I have walked more than 4,500 kms and posted less than 20 posts in total to appeal for support this initiative.

Day before yesterday, when I posted to support Change With One Meal as we are running short on funds to serve meals.

One girl, who lives nearby our outlet called me from her father’s phone and told me that she follows my posts on LinkedIn and wanted to support.

She said, “Jab lockdown mein paise nahi the, toh aapne humara pet bhara tha, hum bhi aapki madad karna chahte hai. Taaki kisi aur ka pet bhar sake”.

She started crying and handed over phone to her father.

After a while I got this message.

This is probably the biggest support I got till date.

I don’t know how this family is going to manage but I know that I am doing something good.

And this Rs.100 is a validation to the work I did in past 6 years.

That’s the power of togetherness!

When people ask me “why don’t you stop this outlet”? This screenshot is an answer for not stopping.

I consider this as success and this might be different for different people.

0.001% of people care for my 21,000 kms walk for blood awareness.

I requested 5 million likes for my post and the reason behind it because India needs 5 million new blood donors to end any kind of death because of blood scarcity.

But sadly I could barely get 5,000 likes in total throughout all social media platforms.

We make useless videos or posts viral, which don’t add value to our daily lives, but my request for 5 million likes was considered useless.

It’s not easy to walk, leaving my family behind for cause directly going to impact every human of country.

And on #worldblooddonorday I wanted to create a buzz (which is not a crime).

Can’t we talk or tag people to grab their attention for this universal issue in India 🇮🇳?

So that no lady need to get into prostitution to pay for blood for her husband.

Or no kid needs to die waiting for blood in any part of India as someone like you and me just ignored my message.

Can’t we use #socialmedia to fix one social issue in #india?

Your like is not going to solve the problem but surely grab attention of millions.

Think and Act… if you really care to help.

Success has many fathers, but failure is orphan!

I spent an abusive childhood, which lead me to failure in my schooling.

That failure became a reason, why most of the people around me ignored my existence.

I was alone and went through 2 suicidal attempts. But again I failed both times.

Both times, nobody was there around me.

But I knew that I am not meant to die so cheap and took a stand for myself.

My wife Jayati gave me a reason to live, love and spread goodness around the world.

When I decided to walk across India with zero expectations, she was there with me.

I went through many situations where I even risked my life. Still I felt alone.

Then unexpectedly, I got a message from one the biggest shows in the world and that’s how I landed to meet one of the most beautiful human… Kapil Sharma.

After the shoot I kept it inside me for more than 2 months, but as soon as I shared the news…

I found so many relatives.

I am not blaming anyone but that’s the harsh reality of this world.

Success do come, but only when you keep on hustling with persistence, honesty, focus and empathy.

Put all your efforts for success and even if you fail, keep trying hard. Fail better every single time…

This happened to me, when I failed alone so many times.

But today my success belongs to everyone (even those who were never around you).

So, I got a chance to share my message on one of the biggest platforms and I am sure, you can also get your own success story, if you just follow my advice.

Till then, keep struggling and stay focused…

I promise… You will win and world will be yours!

Stay blessed and #donateblood to #savelives

Change With One Meal was started to change lives with a meal at a time by serving unlimited dignity and kindness with food at just Rs.10.

This video was made by dear friend Rajneesh Gyani before I started my 21,000 kms walk and he is supporting this initiative by publishing our work on his platform.

Just to ensure that we don’t break the trust of people we have earned over the years by serving them.

It’s not easy for us to manage funds as it requires financial support every month and we don’t take any government aid, political support or contribution from any religious body to run this initiative.

Because we believe in YOU!

After seeing my recent post which crossed 100,000 likes on LinkedIn, one friend called me and said “You are an over night #socialmedia super star now”.

I agree that this post went viral overnight but behind that I spent more than 2000 days (and night as well).

Made more than 3000 posts in last 6+ years on #Linkedin.

It’s not easy to motivate others sometimes when I was feeling low myself, but still I need to hide my pain to spread my message.

I had walked 3,900+ kms to make that post factually correct in 150 days. Where more than 7000 people donated blood to support my walk.

I think, I (and every social media person) deserves a little empathy when people comment like this.

Looking for your #empathy and #support 🙏🏼 beyond that post to make India 🇮🇳a country where “Nobody will die waiting for blood after 31st December 2025”.

I stopped all of a sudden, when an autorickshaw driver came very close to me and said “where are you going?”

First of all I thought he was considering me as a potential passenger, so I humbly said “I don’t need an auto”.

He politely said “Bhai I will drop you wherever you are heading and won’t charge”.

I thought he might be tricking me to hire his rickshaw.

So I said “I am walking for a cause and don’t need a ride”.

He smiled and said with full of confidence “I read about you in newspaper, and I will be grateful if I can drop you anywhere”.

“I have donated blood many times and seen people dying for it. I can’t walk like you but can be a small part of your efforts.”

Honestly I was speechless and I said drop me to a km ahead on this road.

This man dropped me 5-6 kms and insisted that this is my investment to buy your time.

In today’s world when educated people don’t come forward to #donateblood, people like him are taking the cause with pride and emotions.

This is also “Our India 🇮🇳” which is not driven by materialism but with #harmony and #peace ☮️.

We had a good 10-15 mins ride and he dropped me outside the city.

I hope to you see you guys on 30 July, 2022 in Nagpur and let’s spread harmony in India 🇮🇳 with blood 🩸

Can you imagine, I found her through a matrimonial site?

And we got drunk one night on a friend’s bachelor party at my home.

Next day, in front of my very few friends we got married, before I married her in front of the world.

I know, I am not perfect neither she is, but as a family we are the perfect!

Where she always supported me in my craziest decisions and took care of us by earning bread and butter for us.

She gave us the best thing in our lives, our son Eenesh.

For every parent their kids are the best, but in true sense we are blessed with the best child in the world.

When people get serious to find a job, to have a stable life after marriage.

She allowed me to find the purpose of my life leaving my well paying job. We went through a tough time but she never left me.

I tried my best to take care of my son and my house (just like every homemaker), when she was out on her work for three years.

Today I know what my wife would be going through without me since last more than 8 months.

My walk is not just my efforts alone on the road but it’s her sacrifice as well, because of which my voice is reaching millions of people.

I am not asking for much but for the sake of all the sacrifices she made (or every wife out there makes for their family), please 🙏🏼

It has been so many days, since my kid is waiting to go to his school.

Do you know the reason behind that?

Schools are closed due to bad air quality and the cost of real estate is skyrocketing in #Delhi

On the other side, I was in #Nagaland during this time last year and the AQI was never above 50.

This is the same case in #ArunachalPradesh, #Manipur, #Mizoram, #Meghalaya and #Sikkim.

We often call our NorthEastern states as tribal, but if you see they are living better life than any of the person living in any big city of #India.

They pay even less than 1/10 the price for the land (not flats), knows everyone (in whole town), eat organic food (mostly), lives peaceful life.

I saw that we (most metro city people) don’t even treat others well, whereas NE people welcomes you with open arms.

Our NE brothers and sisters understand discipline better than us.

They knows civic sense better than us.

Sadly they are not as smart as us, because they still trust each other and don’t know how to cheat.

Just go to any major city like #Delhi, #Mumbai, #Bangalore, #Kolkata, #Chennai, #Hyderabad and you will see that on the race of development, how much we have lost?

I am blessed that I could experience the best side of my country 🇮🇳.

World class service, cheapest rate and humbleness at the best!

I was in Tadipatri, and all my clothes were dirty because of sweating, which needed a must wash.

As it was raining and it was around 9-10 pm, there was no point of washing clothes by myself.

I reached to a hotel where I asked if there is any possibility of quick laundry delivery.

First they refused but when I insisted, they called this guy Balaiah and he accepted to deliver clothes by 6 in the morning.

He sent his son, who was promising as a student along with a responsible son, helping his father.

I gave some 10-12 clothes with an expectation that this is going to be very expensive and might reach to me atleast by afternoon.

I slept and at 6 my alarm rang along with the doorbell, as if someone was waiting outside the gate for 6 am.

It was Balaiah in front of me, I took clothes and asked the amount. He said Rs. 100 only.

I gave the amount and he left, I was shocked, surprised and moved to see the quality of work he did.

I am sure it was not a mechanical wash due to the detailing given to the clothes while cleaning.

I waited for someone till 8 and out of curiosity I asked the receptionist about his.

The receptionist told me that he used dryer whole night after cleaning to dry my clothes and he didn’t sleep as he didn’t want to be late.

He reached at 5:30 to hotel but as he committed 6, he waited at reception.

I had no words, I requested my host to please ask if we can get his address as he might be sleeping but receptionist called him directly and he was again in front of me (with folded hands).

He thought there was some issue with his work.

I said (through my host) yes there is a huge problem that the kind of service you are giving is impossible to imagine and the price you took for your work is also way below it should be.

I gave him some cash which he initially refused but after insisting he took.

I haven’t seen any better service, cost and “sincere” dedication towards work by any individual in my life.

And that’s why I will put this guy above all my idols (with a humble apology).

I wish I had enough money to gift him a laundry startup and I guarantee people like him, can make a small setup to a billion dollar unicorn.

It was an honour and pleasure meeting such people. Because of them our country is so great 🇮🇳

Thank You Balaiah 🙏🏼

You might have heard or read a post, where Ratan Tata Sir urging people to find a blood donor for a 6 months old dog.

First I thought he’s too crazy because we (humans) fail to find blood donors, who’s going to find a suitable donor for a dogs?

And his post did magic, when they found many potential blood donor dogs in just few hours.

Later I read about something amazing about blood donation practices at blood banks run by #Tata.

There is a policy in Tata plants that if any employee donates blood then they get a day off.

Not just that, but the employee can avail another day off with 7 days after donating blood.

When Ratan Tata was asked, “We loss so many man power hours due to these policies. When we are giving a day off already, then why we need to give another leave? Because the blood gets replenish in just 24 hrs.”

Then Ratan Tata smiled and said,

“Encouragement is something I don’t need to teach you. Only a few people donate blood because they want to. Talking about man-hours, we may be losing some man-hours doing that, but have you ever thought of the number of man-hours that get added to the person’s life who receives that blood in the time of necessity? I am ready to sacrifice some of our man-hours for the better good of humanity.”

That’s what Ratan Tata Sir gave to the world in terms of blood donation.

And just because of this practice or policy, Tata Group achieved remarkable impact in blood donation and collected Hundreds of thousands unit of blood.

Tata Trusts built one of the largest and best hospital for dogs in the world where they have probably largest database of potential blood donor dogs.

Not just that but they also runs one of the largest network of private blood banks (for humans) run by any corporate in India.

Mr. Ratan Tata might not be with us today, but his passion to do good is so infectious and motivating that if our next generation just follow the same…

“Nobody will die waiting for blood in India”

Neither animals nor Humans.

When Allyson Felix became pregnant, Nike was prepared to cut the terms of Felix's endorsement.

They planned to reduce her payment by as much as 70% due to the pregnancy and told her to “know your place and just run.“

Amid all of this, she was forced to have an emergency c-section seven months into her pregnancy.

Because of a potentially life threatening condition and her baby had to live for more than a month in the NICU.

But two years later she's qualified for her fifth #olympics with her daughter watching.

Felix dropped #nike and created her own brand of running shoes, Saysh and launched the first shoe The Saysh One.

In her last appearance at Tokyo Olympics while running Japan she wore her own brand’s shoes under the banner…

“I Know My Place“.

With 11 medals, she passed Carl Lewis for the most track and field medals by an American in history!

“I used my voice and built this company for you. So that you never have to train at 4:30am while you're 5 months pregnant to hide your pregnancy from your sponsor.“

There are many athletes representing #India 🇮🇳 at #parisolympic but failed.

But that doesn’t mean they won’t come back stronger. It’s just a matter of time when Indian flag will be flying high at #olympicgames.

Look at his face, which I clicked at #ChangeWithOneMeal few months ago.

I asked him the reason behind his beautiful smile.

He said, “I came from a small village, with one hope that I will save something while going back home. I used to eat based on my budget but since I started eating unlimited meals at just Rs.10, I can eat without worry”.

He is now going to take home more money, with a better smile.

His smile was so infectious and his gratitude towards the initiative was so honest that I wanted to keep this initiative going forever.

We are still 150k behind our monthly target this month to serve more than thousand people everyday.

Even if 200 people contribute just Rs 750 each, we can serve one person throughout a month with that amount.

Name these faces without using Google.

Few hours ago hardly few people knew their names, but after winning #TheOscars they will be our new poster boys and girls.

More and more people will associate with the success of #NaatuNaatu, #RRR and #TheElephantWhispers.

I read it somewhere that:

“#Success has many fathers, but #Failure is orphan”

I am walking 21,000 kms walk across India so that “Nobody should die waiting for blood in India after 31st Dec 2025”.

If I get success, 1.4 billion people will succeed but if I fail, nobody will ever talk about my struggle, pain and anger for this cause.

Just wish me enough strength to successfully walk ahead to the future, where…

I won’t be able to achieve my target to end blood scarcity in India 🇮🇳 by 31st Dec 2025.

This is what one girl thinks about my #walk4blood campaign.

She is a brilliant student from #Pnar tribe in #Jowai of #JaintiaHills, #Meghalaya.

Though she is a great admirer of my 21,000 kms walk for blood donation awareness.

But on the other side she is little practical on that as well.

She said, our generation (the youth) is “brainless” with Zero IQ and social media made them like that.

Whatever we see or act, is influenced by social media, but there is no learning, even when there are so many life coaches.

The worst thing about your campaign (my #21000kmsWalk) is that, it will fail to attract youth towards the cause using social media.

It’s more meaningful if you (me) post cringe content, as that might get good attention of youth.

BUT if you post meaningful content with logic, people will get bored very soon and will ignore it.

To my surprise this is what I am experiencing in last few months on LinkedIn.

Very few engagement is coming on my posts on LinkedIn.

My post’s reach was 100+ millions last year during this time, whereas this year it’s around 50 millions only.

It seems #Linkedin is also intentionally stopping the organic reach of my posts.

Whereas it is promoting cat-dog videos on this so called “professional platform” nowadays.

I think this journey is going to be more lonely and I have to fight till my last breath to end blood scarcity.

Without considering social media as a tool in my mission.

I was impressed by the observation of that girl (I forgot her name) but I will be more than happy to show her that everything is possible.

What do you think about my statement that “Nobody will die waiting for blood in India after 31st December 2025”.

Do you think we will make it?

That’s the power of goodness and I am grateful to Andhra Pradesh Police for standing for the cause 🙏🏼

Change do happen, if you just #KeepWalking

When Google was founded, nobody thought that it will even scale to touch half of what Yahoo was at that time.

Since then the history is been created by google products one by one. Nobody can think of beating a Google product in today's world (specially in India).

But here is a proud news for the Indians about our own Desi product PhonePe.

PhonePe just beaten Google Pay by handling more monthly UPI transactions in October.

Isn't it a great news?

#Hope is always stronger than #Facts…

Fact - India 🇮🇳 needs 5 million more blood donors to end blood scarcity.

I Hope enough people will come forward to #support my 21,000 kms Walk to spread blood donation awareness.

To make sure “Nobody dies waiting for blood”
