Remote work was my dream. But my career was stuck.

Here's how I escaped my 9-to-5 to work online:

I enjoyed construction for a long time.

But after years in different trades, I'd had enough.

I started waking up in the morning thinking:

I hate my job.
I hate this commute to work.
I hate the people I'm dealing with.

I hate that my boots are wet and my lunch is boring.

Nowadays, I wake up early and laugh because I make money on the Internet.

I write words for other people and get paid to do it.

Pretty wild, really.

So, how did I change careers?

→ I admitted I was unhappy with my current job.
→ I started trying new careers and crazy ideas.
→ I failed at like a bazillion side hustles.
→ I stumbled into an IG business. 
→ I invested time to build it. 
→ I taught myself skills.
→ I was patient.

It took me 4 long years, working evenings and weekends, before I quit my construction business.

When my friends were:

Socializing
Watching movies
& Hanging out...

I was drinking too much coffee and putting in hours.

So, what's the key to escaping your 9-to-5?

It's simple:

Get serious about your goal. 
Face your feelings. Get real about things.
Look for at least one person who shares ur dream.

Your mindset and environment matters a lot.

All good things take time.

See, I was 34 when I finally achieved my goal.

I'd spent two decades in construction.

I had no degree.
↳ only hustle.

So, if I can build a business online.

Creators do NOT matter here. That is fact.

The platform cares about money. The money is in paid ads.

BUT not all is lost, u still have a shot my fellow peasant...

→ 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 $𝟭.𝟴𝟬 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.

It = leaving real comments on 90 posts a day.

But most creators get it wrong.
It’s not about the volume.

You ACTUALLY HAVE TO READ the post, be interested in the person and want to genuinely get to know them and their brain and their business.

You can’t automate this.
You can’t outsource this.
You can’t shortcut this.

Starting from 0 with $0 budget means putting in the work, and networking with people’s content that you actually find interesting and are your target audience.

Automating this method is spammy, you are too broke too outsource this work to an underpaid virtual assistant.

I became what I hated.

A guru with a 6-figure course launch...

Actually.. I fell just short of a 6-fig launch.

But see that's how this silly game works...

(nobody cares what's true anymore)

Anyways... the product was "AI Writing Made Easy" and it was the best LinkedIn writing course about AI in early 2024.

But I was a terrible guru.

I refused to promise buyers platform growth OR an increase in revenue because I couldn't honestly assure that.

Not only that...

But I didn't leverage buyers into...

→ Selling a "special" paid community.
→ Upselling more courses, secrets, workshops.

Because I had realized a dark truth...

Selling on LinkedIn is easier if you have no soul because all you have to do is SELL THE DREAM.

(with 0 care if ur product delivers)

I can't freaking do that.

So eventually I had to just accept it.

So I....

Shut down a second course launch.
Killed an attempt at a paid community.
Nuked all my LinkedIn coaching offers.
Deleted everything, including the course...
AND ghosted 100k+ followers!

I spent most of 2025 offline, and for a while I was pretty frustrated with myself; that I couldn't sell out and go all in.

But as I had time to reflect...

I realized.

I built my business by being myself.

I didn't need to quit building business online.

I just had to do it my way

(n play my own game)

See I believe...

You dont have to become what you hate to build a life of freedom..

You just gotta sell something you believe in.

The winning strategy is to be both human & AI.

It's not that deep.

Use AI to handle the boring back end stuff.
Use your humanity to connect with your audience.

Easy peasy...

Personally I've always enjoyed writing unhinged AND automating the back end like a nerd.

Now I know this might seem extreme.

But this routine is the key to my rugged good looks and well... my incredible LinkedIn profile.

Let me break it down for you:

Struggling with lead gen?

Nobody reading your posts? 
↳ Do 750 pushups and lose some weight u fatty.

Everyone but Bryan Johnson says you can't live forever.
But they are wrong (he is too)

You don't need to spend thousands on peptides.

All you really need is.

I have not shared a real selfie in almost 9 months.
I am a combo between AI fanboy & doomer....

AI has made marketing a lot easier.

You can generate posts, PDFs, scrape lists, build websites, create graphics, videos and even automate follow up, DMs and a plethora of other activities...

I know people will scream it's not quality.

Unfortunately in the last 2 months all of these activities have become elite thanks to AI agents and the frontier models pushing further and further...

But the reason AI is accelerating?

You all give your data away in exchange for convenance.

Now we have skynet loading, meta glasses invading your privacy and Claude training it's AI to have its own "ethics"....

The doom is real.
The boom is real too.

I don't have all the answers, perhaps that is why I am pretty quiet despite showing up and posting again.

All I can say is... If you still have your data sitting in Google (to be used by Gemini), your data sitting in whatsapp, facebook and instagram (to be used by Facebook) and your data sitting in ChatGPT (to be used by OpenAI)....

You should be concerned.

These companies do not care about you.
These companies do not value privacy.

If I were you I'd clean up my data and figure out how to access AI in a more secure, private way....

Personally I am learning how to run AI locally AND I spent 3 months last summer deleting all my data from big tech and deleting my social media accounts.

I only use LinkedIn for business and Substack to write.

Here's what it did for my business....

1. I gained -1000 followers in 189 days.
2. I gained - 90% profile views in the last 90 days. 
3. I gained -500 subscribers in 2025.

Cartoon profile pictures are a challenge on LinkedIn.

People like faces. It's the cost of doing business here.

During this 6 months I learned a lot.

I've cleaned up years of accounts and content. 
I've learned to separate public and personal data.

I have a work environment (with tools and an email).
I have a personal environment (on separate devices).

I have decided to use my name and face here for now.

Because the truth is....

Altho I scrubbed years my content, comments and likes I do not have the hacker skills as of yet to remove all the video clips, pictures and posts shared about me by other digital creators.

It seems I did too good a job at marketing myself lol.

PS How was your 2025 internet person?

The 2026 LinkedIn algorithm favors written content.

But NOT AI slop... You must write SO human it hurts.....

These writing staples used to work:

-Short sentences like this.
-Ridiculous post hooks.
-The rule of three.
-[this] vs [that] + [philosophical power statement'
-Open loops.
-Listicles...

But AI is good enough that you can feed it the above principles and it will do a decent job writing words and FEEL LIKE CHATGPT WROTE IT AND YOU WILL GET NO CLIENTS.........

Sorry folks but you got to write for yourself.

Writing in 2026 still requires you to learn techniques.

But now it demands a secondary layer to feel human....

You need to add these to your skillset:

-Chunky paragraphs.
-Written technical knowledge of your industry.
-Humorous and cultural pieces.
-The art of writing to specific pain points.
-Spelling mistakes n choppy sentences..
