The Corvette has been part of General Motors’ history for 70 years, and it’s always held a special place in my heart – as you can see in a couple photos from over the years.

Yesterday we introduced the all-new electrified Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, and I’m more excited than ever to get behind the wheel of the fastest Corvette to date. Huge thank you and congratulations to the team.

It was great to be in Arlington, TX with our CFO Dhivya Suryadevara and our Global Head of Manufacturing Alicia Boler Davis. You don’t need to come from a manufacturing background like Alicia and me to appreciate the sight of an assembly plant running 24 hours, with three shifts of workers, building nearly 1,200 vehicles a day. The full-size SUVs produced at Arlington are part of the lifeblood of our economy and will be for many years to come. With every model that gets safer, smarter and more fuel efficient, we get closer to our vision for a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion. Days like this – spent on the plant floor and hearing from employees – are some of my favorite days on the job.

Under Pam Fletcher’s leadership, General Motors will launch 20 electric vehicles by 2023. It’s a bold commitment but as VP of Global Electric Vehicle Programs, Pam’s love of tech and relentless drive will lead the way to a zero emissions future. But she doesn’t stop there. With women making up only 14% of engineers in the workforce, Pam takes her role as a mentor to young women seriously. Read more about her journey and advice below. #NationalEngineersWeek #GirlDay2018
As I reflect on a year of progress and innovation, I’m thankful to everyone in the General Motors family for inspiring me and for being the force behind the future of mobility. Wishing you and yours a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Yesterday, we met with the Biden administration and leaders across the industry to announce our shared aspiration to bring the nation closer to a more sustainable future by achieving 40-50% annual U.S. sales of electric vehicles by 2030.

I want to thank the administration for its leadership and support for the necessary policies that will accelerate #EV adoption, strengthen U.S. manufacturing, and provide good jobs for people and communities.

This is a critical moment in time, as we work together to advance the industry and achieve our shared goal for a better planet for generations to come.Ā https://lnkd.in/ec4aKSY3

As a leader in our industry, I feel that I have a responsibility to encourage equal opportunities for all. That is why I joined the Canada-U.S. Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders. Today, with the CEO of Linamar Corp., Linda Hasenfratz, we shared our recommendations to help boost women’s economic engagement, with the initiative: ā€œIncreasing the Number of Women in STEM.ā€ As industries continue to transform, improving access to STEM education is not only crucial to our ability to innovate, it helps communities attract and keep good jobs that will drive the future. I hope this conversation will spark ideas within your community to ensure we are all provided equal opportunities to succeed. #IWD2018Ā https://lnkd.in/d7PC5SP

At General Motors, where electric and autonomous vehicles are driving the most exciting transformation I’ve seen during my career, our core #values guide every business decision we make, every dollar we invest, and every employee who joins our team.Ā And they’ve helped guide me every step of the way since I first started at GM as a co-op student.

Our business is changing but our values remain constant – our north star in both good and challenging times. And they support a collective culture within GM that is customer-focused, and committed to safety and quality, integrity, diverse perspectives, innovation and accountability. People want to be part of a company that aligns with their values and is working to change the world. At GM, they can.

This week, I spoke with General Motors' #interns, an opportunity I look forward to each summer. Their questions displayed a desire to learn – from leadership lessons to my point of view on the auto industry – and gave me the opportunity to share #advice I’ve learned along the way:

Own your job, don’t rent it. Investing in your role and maximizing every opportunity won’t go unnoticed.

Be curious about new technologies. Don’t be afraid to leverage technology to better your work.

Share your point of view. Even if it isn’t what comes of the final decision, your voice will make the discussion more well-rounded.

To our interns, thank you for choosing to spend your summer at General Motors. Our people are the most important part of GM and the future we are building – I’m so glad each of you are part of this journey.

Today I announced the guiding principles of General Motors’ Inclusion Advisory Board, and the eleven members who will join me. We aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world – through our words, our deeds, and our culture. This is just one step.
I sat down with theSkimm to share career advice and explain self-driving cars. You can watch the conversation here:
I love seeing how the Silverado EV is impressing people, even someone like Marques Brownlee! His experience highlights everything we’ve worked so hard to deliver—an electric truck with serious range, performance and tech. It’s exciting to see this kind of response...

ā€œMaybe the most surprising slash impressive electric vehicles I've tested so far...ā€œ -MKBHD
Have you gotten behind the wheel of an EV? I always love seeing people’s initial reactions to our new products and technology. What’s even better? When it’s a member of the General Motors’ team. šŸš—

Last month about 100 of our GM team members had a chance to take a spin in the all-new Equinox EV that’s just beginning to ship to customers, here’s what we heard:

1ļøāƒ£ Fun to drive: EVs deliver power instantly. The responsiveness of the vehicle was impressive, making driving feel effortless and agile.

2ļøāƒ£ Game-changing tech: The modern interior, touchscreen interface and advance driver-assist features are amazing. The first time you take your hands off the wheel to experience Super Cruise is a little scary. After a few minutes of using, it takes a lot of stress out of driving and is easy to see why customers who have it, love it and want it in their next vehicle, too.

3ļøāƒ£ Range Anxiety? Not Anymore: A common concern before driving an EV is range anxiety, but the Equinox EV has 315+ miles of range and with advancements in battery technology and expanding charging infrastructure, range anxiety is becoming less and less of an issue.
Ā
Thanks again, Gina, for giving us a peek into your experience. I can’t wait to see more Equinox EVs on the road soon!⚔
As we continue our journey toward our vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, we have met both opportunities and challenges. What’s next for GM? I share a few of my thoughts on our path forward.
This time of year, many of us have so much to be #grateful for. My family and friends have always been at the top of my list.Ā I’m also appreciative for an outstanding General Motors team and our growing portfolio of #electricvehicles that will surprise and delight our customers, both old and new.

More than ever, electric vehicles may be a topic of conversation at your table. Whether you are rolling up to a family gathering in an #EV or not, here’s a ā€œguideā€ to why ā€œEverybody’s Inā€ this Thanksgiving.
General Motors’ commitment to an all-electric future is focused on delivering #EVs our customers love and ensuring charging is easy, fast and accessible.

As a strong believer in the benefits of #collaboration, I’m excited GM isĀ working across the industryĀ to expand access to high-powered charging in North America to help customers charge whenever and wherever they need.Ā
Ā
This is a significant step in achieving mass #EV adoption, alongside BMW of North America, LLC,Ā Hyundai Motor America,Ā American Honda Motor Company, Inc.,Ā Kia America,Ā Mercedes-Benz AGĀ andĀ Stellantis.
In June, GM announced that we’re intensifying efforts to build tomorrow’s STEM talent by partnering with several innovative non-profits. Today, I’m thrilled to say that we’ve continued to make progress on that commitment with the launch of a Black Girls Code Detroit chapter. Together, we can empower the next generation of women in science, technology, engineering and math in our hometown of Detroit and beyond.
