The job market is on fire right now.

And not necessarily in a good way.

I've never seen so many people (at the same time) who have:

1. Been part of a layoff
2. Are unhappily employed
3. Quitting without a next role

For those who are unhappily employed-

A focus on efficiency has actually led to inefficiency. Many people feel that with the reduction of resources and a lack of “ownership“ at companies, work is just getting passed around to ultimately get killed. No one wants to put their name on anything, resulting in weeks or months in people chiming in with zero ownership or accountability.

For those quitting without a next role -

They just can't take it. Multiple pivots in business direction per month (or week!), lack of accountability at the highest levels and a unprecedented amount of chaos and pointing fingers. These folks are simply burning out.

For those who have been part of a layoff (sometimes this is multiple) -

Even after years of excelling at a skillset and role are doubting their entire self worth because of employers ghosting them, thousands of applicants applying for the same roles, and having the process take months if not years.

For anyone going through the above.

I hope many of these folks, who are ready in their own journey, decide to go out on their own.

Decide to work for themselves, become their own boss.

Become a solopreneur.

Change an industry. Revolutionize something they've been banging their head against the wall dealing with for years.

I hope they have the courage to take that next step and maybe this is the catalyst to do so.
