After 6.5+ years in the industry, I still feel there’s so much left to learn about being a Software Engineer.

Many people do, Especially when it came to making a switch from Service → Product Company.

So, here are my top 5 Tips for professionals who want to switch to a Product-Based Company.

These are the things that hold great importance if you are targeting top PBCs in 2024

👉A strong grasp of DSA & Understanding system design principles and being able to architect scalable and robust systems are key.

Practice designing systems for various real-world scenarios.

👉Develop a portfolio of projects that demonstrate your skills. This could be through open-source contributions, personal projects, or participation in hackathons.

👉 Regularly practice coding problems on platforms. This will help you get used to the types of problems you'll encounter in interviews.

⚡ Research the companies you're interested in. Understand their products, services, and culture and focus on targeted preparation. All PBCs have their way of assessing candidates,

So, tailor your preparation to align with their specific methodologies and expectations.

✅Algorithms to know to ace a DSA interview:

1️⃣. Sorting Algorithms:Organize data into a specific order (ascending or descending). Examples include Bubble Sort, Merge Sort, and Quick Sort.
- Importance: Efficiently sorted data simplifies and speeds up many other operations like searching and merging.

2️⃣. Searching Algorithms: Locate specific elements within a dataset. Examples include Linear Search and Binary Search.
- Importance: Essential for retrieving information quickly from sorted and unsorted data structures.

3️⃣. Dynamic Programming: Breaks down problems into simpler subproblems and solves each subproblem once, storing the results for reuse. Examples include the Knapsack Problem and Longest Common Subsequence.
- Importance: Optimizes problems with overlapping subproblems and optimal substructure, reducing computational complexity.

4️⃣. Greedy Algorithms: Make locally optimal choices at each step with the hope of finding a global optimum. Examples include Activity Selection and Huffman Coding.
- Importance: Often leads to efficient solutions for optimization problems where a globally optimal solution can be constructed from local decisions.

5️⃣. Backtracking: Incrementally builds candidates for solutions and abandons those that fail to satisfy the constraints. Examples include the N-Queens Problem and Subset Sum Problem.

But for now I just want to say that everyone has a different journey. You need to make your own roadmap, take your own sweet time, do things efficiently as per your grasping power and be true to yourself that you are giving your best. ✅

For me, being consistent, patient and working hard everyday did the job. No matter where I was and how busy my day looked like, I always made sure that I do atleast one problem every single day. 😊

Rejection Ke Aage Jeet Hai✌🏻

I vividly remember the feeling of disappointment when I was rejected in my interview before I finally landed my dream role.

Giving up was NEVER an option for me🎯

I decided to double down on my efforts and kept pushing myself towards my goal.

-I focused on honing my system design and Data Structure and Algorithms concepts.

-I dedicated countless hours to solving problems and familiarizing myself with the types of questions that often come up during interviews.
