It's all about HAPPINESS .

Happiness is the way, not the other way around.
This is also true when it comes to living a purposeful life. It's not something you find; it's how you live your life, serving others and giving meaning to your work.

🇮🇹Grazie a voi
A tutti voi
💙 FORZA AZZURRI

Sometimes all you need is just someone who is willing to give you a chance.

Wholesome meme here from Reddit, Inc. to start the week.

Edit: Wow, over 3 million views on this simple share of some #wholesome goodness! ALL the credit goes to the team at Cyanide and Happiness for inspiring many of their fans to recreate their comics using this style and to the OG Reddit post I saw this shared: https://bit.ly/3tH82Qy

It's been amazing to read all the different “you're hired“ stories in the comments and re-shares, and glad that it's helped us reflect and give thanks to those who took a chance on us (including me!)

Many have DMed on helping them with their job search so I wanted to share the details for my 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 next week on how to stand out in the market and GET HIRED. You are all welcome to join! https://lnkd.in/gfXfAJ9

I still remember I was 7 months pregnant while appearing for my masters exams. I felt I was ready to sit for 3 hours as I was regularly going to the office back then. But sitting in an AC office was completely different from sitting in a third-floor room of a government school. I would go to the ground floor every 20 mins to use the washroom. (Moms can imagine) I thought I would be okay.

In the next exam, I was all prepared with a water bottle, fruity, and lots of bananas. My family told me to quit the exam the moment I don't feel good.

But the determination to complete my masters and the attitude to never give up helped me show up for every exam.

Remembering that time today to remind me and all women that there will always be challenges in our journey but our actions in such situations define our story.

Let's do it 💯

If you died tonight

Your employer would advertise your job role by the end of the month.

But your loved ones, would miss you forever.

Don't get too busy making a living that you forget to work on making a life.

One day, Thomas went to school dressed as Superman.

The teacher asked him, “Why are you wearing that? You aren't allowed to wear that to school?’

He replied: “Because Superman is my uncle.“

The teacher explained that Superman wasn't real, but Thomas insisted that he was.

Later, at school pick-up, the teacher approached Thomas' mum and said,

“We don't encourage our kids to tell lies and you shouldn't either. Your son has been telling everyone his uncle is Superman.“

“Oh!“ she replied with a smile, “He's not lying. It's true.“

Here is little Thomas with his uncle... Henry Cavill.

“Pretos no topo.

Marcus Rashford has done so much for this country by pressuring the government into giving kids free school meals.

Bukayo Saka is only 19 years old.

Jadon Sancho is only 21 year old.

Nobody intentially misses a penalty kick.

We do not hate, these young men have given us so much.

They made us believe.

I have so much respect for what they’ve all achieved so young.

#resignation

One of my team member resigned.

He felt almost sorry letting me know about his decision.

I pushed for better rating for him in the last cycle as he deserved it.

He was moving to an aspirational brand.

I knew that he will do well in his new role.

I would have loved to have him in my team.

Mind felt like stopping him, the Heart said, let him go and make his exit smooth.

I wished him good luck and jokingly said “Go there and see if you find something interesting for my seniority ;)“

Till I was working in Corporate, he kept coming back with senior roles that he came to know in his company.

He would come back for discussions, guidance and more so to let me know how my mentoring has helped him grow in the new place.

“Leadership is not just about building an A team, but it is also about letting them go if that is best for them“.

This book kicked my ass.

Which is why I can’t wait to share it with you!

I learned so much about the language of human emotion and experience. And after searching for 20+ years, this research led me to the missing piece that I needed to develop a model on connection.

“Atlas of the Heart” is a book about finding our way back to ourselves and one another.

When fear, anxiety, and uncertainty leave us feeling adrift and untethered in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore.

But the shore isn’t something outside of us — the solid ground we’re seeking is within us. It’s not always easy to find, but it’s there.

This book explores the language and tools we need to access a universe of new choices and second chances — a universe where we can share and steward the stories of our bravest and most heartbreaking moments with one another in a way that cultivates meaningful connection.

To all of the mapmakers and the travelers — this one is for you!

Open letter to the woman on the tram who told her daughter that she couldn’t have any chocolate or she would end up like me. It was an attempt at a whisper but it was a little too loud and they both looked over.
Some would call me cuddly or curvy, I am overweight. The vessel I travel in isn’t perfect but it’s mine. It holds the scars of childhood sexual abuse, the ravages of years with an eating disorder, it has beaten cancer, birthed 2 beautiful children and fights arthritis daily. It has achieved many things with me and for me. People like you have stopped me from pursuing my passions on occasions but mostly I can let it wash over me.

I have less time left to live on this planet than I have already lived so I choose my ripple more carefully these days.

When you look at me, I hope you see my smile and feel my warmth, I hope you see my joyful heart beat, hear it sing or join in with it when it dances. I hope you can accept that sometimes my ripple bursts through my body and I do all of these things publicly. My vessel is only my shell, it doesn’t tell my story.
Be kind. Do not judge others. Some can rise above your cruelty. Others can’t. Be the reason someone believes in themselves not the reason they hide away.
What is YOUR ripple?

Il y a un vrai problème avec l’entrepreneuriat féminin.

Ça me choque toujours autant...

I offered this young guy a job 10 minutes after he sent me this message 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

He identified a blind spot I had, created a solution, got it done, and sent me a nice message.

This one act stood out more than the 500+ CV’s I’ve received this week.

It turns out he had just been made redundant - what a great demonstration of initiative.

See you in April Nathan Bickerton!

Billionaire Mark Cuban just launched a drug company that is “dedicated to producing low-cost versions of high-cost generic drugs” and pledges “radical transparency” in pricing.⁣

The company is launching with albendazole, an antiparasitic drug that has an average list price of $225 per tablet, but Cuban’s company has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of just $20 per tablet. With insurance, the cost would be even lower.⁣

The company adds a “flat 15% margin” to get wholesale prices, which “makes sure we remain viable and profitable.” The company claims its approach cuts out the middlemen to ensure “everybody gets the same low price for every drug we make.”⁣

BOSS: I didn't see you log on at 10:00am.
Employee: But we are working from home. I was on a break.
BOSS: That's not the stipulated break times.
Employee: But I am getting my work done.
BOSS: I just need to see you online and I need to know your movements.
Employee: Okay fine. I am starting and finishing on time. Nothing more.

Micromanagement is a complete waste of time! It sucks the life out of employees. If you hired someone for a job, then trust them to get it done!

Bumble is a company catering to women and is led by women.

And it has just made history.

CEO and founder Whitney Wolfe Herd created Bumble in 2014, a dating app where women make the first move, after a bitter departure from Tinder. It's interesting to note that Wolfe says she came up with the name “Tinder.”

Bumble went public on Wednesday and saw its stock soar 64% in its Nasdaq debut on Thursday. At the point of writing, the stock is trading at over $75 per share and the company is worth over $8 billion in the public markets.

Bumble’s market reception has made Whitney Wolfe's 21.5 million shares worth over $1 billion.

As an effect, she became the world's youngest self-made woman billionaire. Also, she is the youngest female CEO ever to lead a company to an IPO.

“Have a dream, chase it down, jump over every single hurdle, and run through fire and ice to get there“,- Whitney Wolfe Herd
