Magnificent! Barcelona's Alex Roca Campillo made history as the first person with a Level 5 severe disability to complete a marathon, when he finished the Barcelona Marathon on the weekend in a time of 5 hours and 54 minutes.

The 32 year old has cerebral palsy due to contracting encephalitis when he was six months old which rendered 76% of the left side of his body immobile and he communicates in sign language.

In the Spanish disability grading system the 5th level being over 75% - meaning a very severe disability with the individual unable to perform most daily tasks by themselves.

The doctors were not confident that Alex would survive, but his hard work, determination and perseverance has allowed him to take on life and not be defined by his disability.

After the race he posted on social media: “I HAVE NO WORDS!“

Alex's mantra is “You set your own limits, they are set by us individually.“

I once hired an employee 5 minutes into their first interview. They ended up being a great fit.

I could have asked for more interviews, a case study, or had them wait two weeks for an answer.

But I wouldn't want someone to do that to me.

The hiring process today forgets that each resume is from a person with dreams, a family, and bills to pay.

Interviewing 100 people 6 times each for your entry-level job wastes everyone's time.

Just because you sometimes struggle with self-doubt, bad habits or you don't have a perfect morning routine doesn't make you any less successful - it makes you a human being.

Neuron vs viruses vs bacteria. Microorganisms size comparison:

At the smallest end, viruses reign as the tiniest entities, mere nanometers in size, carrying genetic information within a protein coat.

Slightly larger, bacteria emerge, ranging from 0.5 to 5 micrometers, displaying diverse shapes and functions, from beneficial symbionts to potential pathogens.

Cells, the building blocks of life, often measure tens to hundreds of micrometers, encompassing organelles that facilitate complex processes.

Down, but not out.

To be honest, I was dreading the airing of the Flatheads pitch on Shark Tank India. Breaking down on national TV isn't exactly great for one's self confidence 😳. What I definitely didn't expect is the episode to be received the way it has been, and it is very very heartening to see that people are applauding the entrepreneurial spirit - of all startup founders, with me as a proxy ❤ .

A heartfelt thank you to the sharks Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal and Namita Thapar for helping me get some perspective. And to Sony and Shark Tank India for giving founders like me a chance to speak about what entrepreneurship is really like.

Measure results, not hours.

WHAT really COUNTS?
The 95-year-old you knows what was really important and what wasn’t; what really mattered and what didn’t; what really counted and what didn’t count at all. What advice does the wise “old you” have for the you reading this? Take your time. Jot down the answers on two levels: personal advice and professional advice. And once you have written down these words, take them to heart.

Imagine yourself at 95 years old, knowing what was important and what wasn’t. Take that knowledge to heart now, both for your career and for your personal life.

First, take a deep breath. Take a deeper breath. Now, imagine that you are 95 years old and you are just about to die. Here comes your last breath. But before you take your last breath, you are being given a wonderful, beautiful gift: the ability to travel back in time and talk with the person who is reading this. The 95-year-old you has been given the chance to help the you of today to have a great career and, much more important, to have a great life.

Às vezes, o fim de um ciclo nada mais é do que o começo de um novo muito melhor. Concorda?

Maybe it's a thing with other 60 year olds as well, but sometimes I find my thoughts going back to things from my past. It could be my childhood, summers in my hometown, business partners, my early years in the films, things I wish I’d done differently or some decisions I now regret.

Beating yourself up over things you regret could be unproductive. Instead, I look at those mistakes as valuable lessons to learn from, and focus on the future.

My personal life has been blessed with a solid foundation. In my professional journey though, I have my fair share of regrets.

Entered underprepared - I had virtually no acting skills when I got my first movie. I was fit & great at action, that’s all. My diction & body language were poor. I didn't know a thing about film-making. It didn't take the critics long to spot my flaws. People said unkind things, & for a long time I remained stubborn & focussed just on my strengths, instead of working on my weaknesses. Destiny will get you to a point. Beyond that, it’s down to what you make of it.

Market positioning - In the early years of my career, I had no strategy at play. My decisions lacked pattern. On one hand I’d deliver a big budget hit & on the other my next movie would end up being a low budget, poorly made & badly marketed one. My actions left the market confused. I didn't know the value of positioning. If you don’t define yourself, no one else can.

Personal branding - In the movie business, failures get a lot of attention. But for some reason, I never ensured that my successes were spoken of. Over a 30 year career, I’ve never turned up late for a shoot or ever caused any troubles on set, yet I found it odd to market or pitch my discipline & commitment. Truth is, people need to know what you’re made of. Don’t oversell yourself or lie about your skills, but if you’re making an impact, it can't hurt to speak about it.

Leveraging success - There were several people I really wished to collaborate & work with. Despite several highs in the first 20 years, I never reached out to them. It really wasn't an ego thing, but probably just how my upbringing was. I believed that my work would speak for itself. Truth is, if you want something, you need to ask for it. And if you don’t ask, the answer is always no! Simple as that.

DIdn't always follow my heart - When I forayed into the real estate business, I was excited by the idea of building niche products like holiday homes. Yet, to start with, I focused more on those conventional large projects because they seemed like the 'right thing' to do. To an extent, that took away the joy I was looking for, & course correction cost me a few years!

Truth is, things get a lot worse than they should when we take longer to acknowledge mistakes.

God has been really kind. What I lacked in wisdom, I made up for by the sheer will to survive.

Yet, if I could go back in time & change something, it’d be my ability to recognise my shortfalls & fix them a lot sooner!

The art of painting beneath the flyover has the potential to become well-known and admired. In order for this special art form to be accepted in metropolitan settings, human groups can share this medium. For learners, artists, and inventors, it can also be a tremendous chance.
The mural beneath the flyover has multiple layers of importance. Infrastructure that has previously been constructed can be made more elegant by adding beauty, colour, and local elements. The fact that it serves as a means of communication and has the power to bring people together makes it significant from the perspective of the community as well.
